1. Nature of the Service (Client-Side Tool)

SafeStatement.app provides a web-based tool that allows users to convert PDF documents (specifically bank statements) into Excel/CSV formats.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Local Processing: Our tool operates using client-side technology (WebAssembly). Your files are processed entirely within your own browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
  • No Data Retention: Since we do not receive your files, we cannot recover, restore, or provide copies of any converted data once you close your browser tab.

2. Accuracy of Data & No Financial Advice

This is the most critical section. Please read carefully.

SafeStatement.app is a technical conversion tool, not a financial or accounting service. While we strive for high accuracy, automated conversion software can make mistakes due to PDF formatting inconsistencies, blurry text, or encryption issues.

  • User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, and correctness of any converted data before using it for accounting, tax filing, audits, or legal purposes.
  • No Professional Advice: The Service does not constitute legal, financial, or accounting advice. You should consult with a qualified professional before making financial decisions based on the data converted by this tool.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall SafeStatement.app, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation:

  • Financial Loss: Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from errors in data conversion.
  • Tax Penalties: Any penalties, interest, or audits resulting from the submission of incorrect data extracted by our tool.

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy or reliability of the conversion results.

4. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding the data you process), features, and functionality (including the conversion algorithms and visual interface) are and will remain the exclusive property of SafeStatement.app and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

5. Links to Other Web Sites & Affiliate Disclosure

Our Service contains links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by SafeStatement.app. This includes affiliate links to partners such as Intuit (QuickBooks), Xero, or others.

  • Affiliate Relationships: If you click on a third-party link and make a purchase, we may receive a commission. This does not affect the cost to you.
  • No Control: SafeStatement.app has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party web sites or services.
